Dear NanaR:
The personal experience that was related was a little
long, but great nevertheless.
The Watchtower has to always reinforce the concept that
leaving the organization is a bad thing. They will latch
on to this concept to avoid more defections and strengthen
the idea that something bad will happen if you leave God's
organization.
What would happen if they gave positive experiences of those
who left the organization?
An "exodus" would take place.
Respectfully,
The Wanderer

Personal Ethics of XJWs
by NanaR inwhile reading on jwd last night and this morning, i was reminded of a situation that i had with my husband when i told him i was not ever going back to the kingdom hall (this happened in october 2006 so relatively recently).
this statement should not have come as a great surprise to him, as he knows that i now belong to the american legion auxiliary (in fact i am the local unit president), that i vote, and that i helped convince our daughter to have a blood transfusion that may have saved her life.
also i had told him in the past that he should not set up any meetings for me with the elders as i would not talk to them.. in spite of his knowledge of my present activities, his reaction to my "never going back" statement was severe.

Has The Watchtower Society Changed?
Two nights ago, there laying on a countertop, were the latest
issues of the Watchtower and Awake magazines. One was
dealing with the issue of honesty and the other with the
issue of false religion.Curiosity led me to scan the periodicals; it seems the Watchtower
has left out the mention of the United Nations in the Awake magazine
dealing with false religion. I vividly recall that false religion and the
United Nations were typically connected.Comparing The Organization To What It Was Ten Years Ago
Can anyone offer any insights whether the Watchtower has changed?
Are the magazines more flexible in their stand?
Is the Watchtower Society slowly getting away from the "wild beast" mentality
in connection with the UN without causing much of a stir?
Thank you for your thoughts.

Classifying the Watchtower Society?
Taking a closer look at the Watchtower Society after being a witness,
how would you classify the Society? Some individuals would compare
the Watchtower to a totalitarian or governmental society, others as a
cult and still others as a corporation of sorts. How do you view it and why?

Should you tell them the truth—even if it kills them?
A family of witnesses that were good to me in the
past was always strong in the “truth.” They pioneer-
ed throughout their witness lives and it occurred to me
whether or not to tell them the truth about the organization.Being up in years now
This family has been in the “truth” for about 35 years now
and it occurred to me that if they found out the true nature
of the Watchtower Society it might literally prove to be
fatal. (They are in their 70's).
Would it be a good idea to let them know the true
nature of the organization—even if it kills them?Respectfully,
The Wanderer

THE PREACHING WORK PROVES IT IS THE TRUTH
My best friend is now out of the organization. However, he still defends
the Society because he claims " it is the only organization on earth that
preaches the good news about God's Kingdom."
UNCONVINCED UNTIL THIS POINT IS ANSWEREDThis point about the preaching work is the roadblock to releasing my
friend from the tentacles of the Watchtower Society. Can anyone offer
any help about this matter?Respectfully,
The Wanderer
